This class is for adults who want to learn Russian and be introduced to the Russian culture. All levels are welcome - from beginners to someone with previous knowledge. Lessons are tailored to individual needs (as much as practically possible) but are conducted in a small group setting.
Students will learn alphabet and start practicing basic reading and writing. They will be introduced to the main grammar rules and everyday vocabulary of Russian speakers.
This programme is based on a specialist textbook that follows the methods of teaching Russian to foreign students and includes both written and oral exercises. The aim of the course is to promote learning of all aspects of the language and to provide opportunities for practice and socialising with native speakers. Students will be given regular homework to support their learning.
Course tutor - Tatiana House is a very experienced teacher and have been working with adults and children for many years. She is also the Head of the Management Committee of the Sussex Russian Centre Kalinka.
The textbook is to be purchased from the School, and students will need to supply their own notepads, pens and pencils. Otherwise all we need from you is your active participation, patience and willingness to learn!
Lessons take place on Saturdays at 12:00 - 13:00. The fee is £7 per lesson and payable in advance for all weeks of the current semester (exact dates to be advised). Our School follows the academic schedule of Brighton and Hove schools and is open term-times only.
